Hahndorf and Sauerkraut

December 23, 2012

Last week, my boyfriend and I decided to make a visit to Hahndorf (looking like tourists with my massive camera, I may add). It is a small village foundered by German immigrants over 100 years ago, and most people come here to experience the German influence.

There are lots of great places for lunch (with some favourites being Udder Delights, The Haus and The Handorf Inn), so this time round we went to The Hahndorf Inn for the obligatory kranskies, sauerkraut and pretzels. I’m sure the guy from Man vs. Food would love their 1m bratwurts and hotdogs :/ We also tried out the No. 5 chocolate cafe, and their single origin hot chocolates are amazing.

We had great fun walking up and down the main street, where there are heaps of touristy shops which are worth checking out for good knicknacks. We also discovered a really creepy statue near the German Arms hotel, which we couldn’t resist photographing.

On a side note, if you are into parcel forwarding (like I am) the Zara US site is having a great sale right now. I already put in an order and so should you ^^
